Set a goal

Plan Your Regime

What skin goal would you like to achieve? From reducing breakouts to increasing hydration, plan a regime built around your skincare needs AND stick to it.

Seek pro advice rather than following a trend as your skin is individual to you and requires its own customised skin regime, not someone else’s.

Start Simple

Start with a simple regime that includes a daily cleanser, serum/moisturiser and a non-negotiable sunscreen. Then step it up with optional extras as required.

Skin Sequencing

If you wish to boost your skin, skin sequencing may also be a good option to introduce. Remember to keep it focussed, alternating your key products with a couple of additional ones.

Your body deserves skincare too

Ensure that you give your body some regular TLC too. Exfoliating regularly and using a daily body oil or serum is key to glowing body skin. Pay extra attention to areas that may experience ingrown hairs, keratosis pilaris or dry skin and always apply a sunscreen to uncovered body areas.

Plan your schedule

Create a treatment timetable that may begin up to a year in advance, depending on your skin type, desired results, and whether professional treatments, anti-wrinkle injections, or other aesthetic procedures are included.

Locking in a dedicated pro skin or dermal therapist early allows them to truly understand your skin, goals, and budget, so they can recommend the most effective treatments for you.

A hydrating soothing facial is best kept the week before your wedding over anything invasive or stimulating.

Your skin glows from within

Having a solid skincare regime is important, but what you eat matters too. It’s a key element for a glowing healthy skin and when it comes to internal health, maintaining a healthy gut is important as imbalances between good and bad bacteria in the gut and the diversity of the microbiome can influence the skin. This is called the gut-skin axis.

You don’t have to stop what you enjoy eating, however, if you have a skin condition that maybe triggered with diet choices, look to modify, reduce and understand what works for you. In general, avoid alcohol, caffeinated drinks and sugar which can have a negative effect on the skin.

Exercise is another great way to encourage a healthy glowing skin. Regular exercise helps to oxygenate, increases circulation and removes toxins and waste, so include exercise as part of your lifestyle.

Don’t leave it to the last minute

If you are new to beauty additions like spray tans, lash extensions or brow laminations then a trial well before the big day is a must. Trialling is not only important to test out your desired look, but a good test for potential skin irritation or allergy prior to the big day.

If you are seeking a specific makeup look, a makeup consultation and trial will also help to calm any pre wedding day unknowns.
