Native to Australia
This small thorny shrub grows in the northeastern and southeastern coastal border areas of Australia. The fruit grows as long cylindrical ‘fingers’ which contain small pearl-like vesicles, commonly referred to as ‘lime caviar’. This lime caviar is tangy and edible and has been used by first nation peoples for its numerous nutritional benefits.
