What Makes Our Face Oils SO Different?
Are the oils cold-pressed?
Cold pressing is a method of extracting oil with a seed press. This method ensures important nutrients and vitamins from the plant are not lost through traditional extraction which may involve heat or over processing. The cold pressing methods Biologi use preserves the valuable fats, vitamins and nutrients required for skin health, making our oils some of the most natural and superior on the market.
Are they unrefined?
An unrefined oil means that the oil is as close to nature that you can get as it has not undergone unnecessary processing. When you look at an unrefined oil, it will have a prominent colour and clarity, resulting in a richer more nutrient dense oil.
Do they contain any added fragrance?
Fragrance is an obvious ingredient in perfumes, colognes, and deodorants, but it’s widely used in skincare too. Some products marketed as “fragrance-free” or “unscented” may in fact contain fragrance along with a masking agent to hide any unpleasant odour. Further, formulas don’t have to list all of the chemicals used to make a particular fragrance, meaning that the ‘fragrance’ itself could contain up to hundreds of chemicals. For the skin, fragrance can cause irritation, redness, and photo sensitivity.
Biologi oils do not contain any fragrance at all. Their unique natural smell or ‘odour profile’ comes directly from the purity of the oil and nothing else.

What vitamins and nutrients do they contain?
Plant oils contain valuable fat-soluble vitamins like A, E, and K which can provide the skin with specific supplementation. Vitamin A can boost the skin and has regenerative properties. Vitamin E can help repair and aids in keeping the skin supple whilst vitamin K is excellent for post wound healing and strengthening the skin.
How do essential fatty acids benefit the skin?
Oils are rich in essential fatty acids, but did you know that they can play a critical role in the following ways:
• Help to support the skin barrier.
• Assist with maintaining and locking in hydration.
• Provide protection against the environment.
• Have antioxidant capabilities.
• Calms and aids in reducing inflammation or redness.
• May help balance oil.
• Keeps skin supple and nourished.
Essential fatty acids cannot be produced by the body and therefore topical supplementation is a great way to provide extra omega nourishment to the skin.
