The Year of the Horse

The Year of the Horse

This Lunar New Year ushers in the Year of the Horse. On 17 February, the Year of the Snake ends, and the Year of the Horse gallops into your life.

In a nutshell, 2025 was the year of shedding what no longer served us. It was the year of quiet contemplation, reevaluating, reorganising and in practical terms a time to declutter, rethink and reassess.

2026 Skincare Guide

To help you welcome the Year of the Horse, here is our 2026 skincare guide.

Before 17th February, remove the last of snake energy by cleaning out your beauty cupboards!

  • Wash and clean makeup brushes
  • Wash microfibre cloths and makeup sponges
  • Wash your hairbrushes
  • Replace your toothbrush
  • Check expiry dates on all products
  • If your mascara has been opened for 3-6 months get rid of it
  • Wipe over your product bottles
  • Clean shelving

Intentional Skincare for the Horse Year

The Year of the Horse is about setting clear, intentional goals and moving forward to reach them in a consistent way. When choosing skincare, instead of reaching for quick fixes, set a longer-term goal of what you want to achieve for you and your skin.

Barrier restoration, hydration and nourishment is key to healthy skin, so invest in skincare that helps protect and build your barrier.

We love Bf Restore Face and Body Serum and Hydra Calm Bio Cellulose Sheet Mask for hydration at its best.

Choose nourishing Br Rosehip Oil or lightweight By Blackberry Seed Oil to help lock in moisture, protecting the skin barrier with key vitamins and essential fatty acids.

With mindfulness and simplicity key this Horse Year, simplify your regime with a daily cleanser, serum and SPF and apply intentionally. Choose optional extras as required.

Balance the Fire Energy

As the Horse has fire energy this year, it can also be bold, action-packed and progressive, so it’s important to nourish yourself to avoid burnout. Try sauna sessions, massage, professional treatments, meditation, exercise, and set a regular sleep pattern to recharge, recover and rebalance from the fast-moving nature of the fire horse.
