Consistency in a Skincare Routine

The Importance of a Skincare Routine and Why Consistency Matters

We live in a fix it now and I want it yesterday society and everyone buys into it because they want to see rapid and changing results immediately. Unfortunately, there no quick ‘fixes’ for the skin.

However, there are a few products that can give a good outcome straight away, but they are not products that change your skin from say, having breakouts to no breakout’s instant products! Cleansers are one product that can give an immediate result because you are removing dirt, pollution particles, make-up or sunscreen to leave it clean, fresh, soft and supple.

Moisturisers and serums can also give your skin a great feeling straight after application because they are helping to keep the skin supple and hydrated. An oil used with Gua Sha tool may also give your skin an almost immediate and instant glow because of increase circulation from the massage and nourishment of the oil.

Physical exfoliants may also give you a smoother complexion straight after use because they buff and polish the surface of the skin to remove surface dulling dead cells.

Why Can’t We Expect Instant Results and Need Consistency in Our Skincare Regime?

Everybody’s skin is different and a needs different regime to get the best results for them individually. What works for one person, may not work for another.

Cellular turnover is not same for everyone. On average it’s about 28 days, but some factors like age or other conditions may alter the way our skin cell’s function which can affect a product and therefore results time.

Why Can't We Expect Instant or Super-Fast Results with Skincare?

There is no instant ‘cure’ for the skin. It takes a recommended regime that is built around your individual skin concern or goal, consistency and the right products for your skin for the best results.

What a Realistic Time Frame is When it Comes to Seeing Visible Results?

On general, allow about a month before you even start to discount a product, and it can take longer on average 3- 6 months to see real long-term progress. Our skin may need to become adjusted to a new regime and some ingredients take time for results to be seen, for example skin brightening or melanin targeted ingredients.

If you want accelerated results, there are many professional treatment choices that can target your skin goals too.

Consistent Results Begin Here

1

Begin.
Have a focus on your MAIN skin concern or goal. Is it to reduce breakouts, hydrate, or brighten for example.

2

Build.
Your regime is built around your main goal. What products and ingredients will help achieve my skin goal? Do you need to seek additional advice from a professional therapist, or naturopath?

3

Be Real.
Is your skin goal short term or long term. For example, dehydration concerns will have a quicker result, but a goal of brightening hyperpigmentation will take longer to achieve results.

4

Breakthrough.
How is my skin responding, do I need some customisation or tweaks with additional options. Should I add in professional treatments to accelerate results?
